From January 1, 2022, reverse charge of import VAT becomes mandatory.
All importers will, on that date, be subject to this new mechanism. The reverse charge allows to defer the payment of import VAT by entering the amount on the turnover declaration form transmitted to the Tax Department.
Importers have to get ready as soon as possible for this important transition and get in touch with their national Directorate-General for taxation
